Dr. Jack Cooley graduated from Oberlin College in 1966 with a degree in Zoology and from The Ohio State University in 1972 with a PhD in American Foreign Policy.
He served The Ohio State University as the Assistant Honors Director for the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences and as an Instructor in the Department of History from 1972-1980. He became Director of the Honors Program in 1980 as an Assistant Dean, followed by his appointments as the Administrative Director for the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences in 1992, an Assistant Vice Provost in 2000, an Assistant Provost in 2003.
Dr. Cooley served Columbus State Community College as the Dean of the Division of Arts and Sciences at Columbus State Community College in 2007 and became Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs in 2011.
Dr. Cooley served the Columbus area as Chair of the Clintonville Area Commission from 2000-2004, and in 2005 began service as a member of both the City of Columbus Transportation Commission (until 2009) and the City of Columbus Development Commission (service continues). In addition, he has served on the boards of various social service and environmental agencies and organizations.
