Cougars drop two games at Danville tournament

DANVILLE, Ill.– The Columbus State men's basketball team dropped two losses in their season debut last weekend to #10 Danville Area Community College and Parkland College.

On Friday, Columbus State took on Danville. Sophomore transfers Kenneth Moore and Nic Williams led the Cougars with 19 and 16 points respectively. Moore added three rebounds and a game-high four steals while Williams grabbed four rebounds and had one block.Freshman Rodney Willis put up 11 points and a pair of rebounds.

The final score of the game was 86-75.

On Saturday, Kenneth Moore led Columbus State with 11 points and shot 100% at the line. Robert Caldwell and CJ Crowder sunk in ten points apiece while Patrick Ngene-Igwe chipped in nine points. Ngene-Igwe also had a game-high eight rebounds while Nic Williams snatched seven rebounds.

Parkland defeated the Cougars with a score of 76-65.

The Cougars are back on the road at the Titan Tip Off Tournament, hosted by the Community College of Beaver County. They tip off at 5:00 PM on Fri, Nov 6.
