Cougars pick up road win against Edison

PIQUA, Ohio- The Columbus State men's basketball team (12-4, 4-2 OCCAC) closed out the Edison Chargers on Saturday afternoon to remain second in the conference behind #2 nationally ranked Sinclair.

Nic Williams and Robert Caldwell lead the Cougars with 20 points apiece. Williams added five rebounds as well as a trio of assists and steals while Caldwell had four rebounds, four steals, and three assists. 

The Cougars had four players in double figures as well as saw each player come off the bench. 

Kenneth Moore tallied 17 points, including three baskets from behind the arc, along with five rebounds and two assists.

Rodney Willis and Lamarr Barnes collected 11 and nine points respectively. Willis grabbed eight rebounds while Barnes snatched a team-high nine rebounds.

Other contributors were John Montgomery with seven points, Patrick Ngene-Igwe with six, Chris Byrd with four, and Donte Smith with two.

While the Cougars were held to 36.3% shooting from the field, they maintained their steady defense with 16 steals and only eight turnovers. 

The Cougars return to action on Wed, Jan. 20 for a 7:30 p.m. road game against Clark State Community College.
