Columbus State men's basketball now nationally ranked

COLUMBUS, Ohio - After three wins last week, the Columbus State men's basketball team landed in the NJCAA DII Top 20 after receiving votes in last week's poll.

Columbus State (18-5, 8-3 OCCAC) defeated Lakeland, Hocking, and Lorain County over the past week to propel into the national ranks. OCCAC member Sinclair remained steady in the No. 3 spot in the poll.

Coach Thompson is pleased that the Cougars are being recognized. "It is always a goal to be ranked in the top 20, but the ultimate goal is making it to the national tournament".

Columbus State last saw its men's basketball team in the rankings on Jan. 15, 2013 when they ranked 19th overall.

The men return to action against Cuyahoga (15-10, 5-4 OCCAC) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 10 in Cleveland. They return home on Saturday to take on Owens at Otterbein University at 5:00 p.m.
