Circleville, Ohio - The Columbus State men's basketball team (10-4, 21-6) is gearing up for post-season play, beginning Tue, Mar 1 at Ohio Christian University's Maxwell Center. The No. 2 seed Cougars will take on No. 7 seed Edison Community College (3-11, 12-18) at 7:30 p.m. Columbus State swept Edison in regular season with scores of 88-78 on Jan. 16 and 98-90 on Feb. 20.
The winner of that game will move on to the District 11 Semifinals to compete against the winner of the No. 1 Sinclair and No. 8 Clark State matchup. That game will be played on Fri, Mar 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the Maxwell Center.
Eight teams are competing in the tournament which will produce the conference's bid to the NJCAA DII National Championships in Danville, Illinois. After Tuesday's quarterfinals, four teams will move on to the District 11 Semifinals / Final Four - all to be played at Ohio Christian University. The tournament concludes after Saturday's 4:30 pm. championship final.
The Columbus State - Edison quarterfinal game will be free of charge to all who attend. The semifinal games on Friday and the final games on Saturday will be $5.00, which will grant fans admission to all games that day. Tournament programs and t-shirts will be available for purchase at the door.
