Offense carries Cougars to win over Clark State

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Rodney Willis continues his hot streak on the court with a game-high 37 points as the Columbus State men's basketball team (12-12, 9-6 OCCAC) routs Clark State 83-49 on Wednesday evening.

Willis led the game with five steals and grabbed seven boards while shooting 15-for-23 from the field and 5-for-9 from downtown. Juwan Demmings and Matthew Gierhart each added ten points while Mario Young and Grant Dierksheide sunk in nine points apiece. Demmings, who returned to the court after suffering a skull fracture in December, shot a perfect 6-for-6 at the line and snatched four rebounds. Gierhart led the team with eight boards.

Johnnie Robinson matched Demmings' four rebounds and dished out a team-best three assists while Dylan Geig seized a career-best three steals.

Collectively, the Cougars bested the Eagles in shooting from the field (47%-35%) and at the foul line (79%-50%).

Columbus State returns to action on Saturday for their last regular season game when they hit the road to take on Edison Community College in Piqua at 3:00 p.m.
