Dustin Iacovone is beginning his first year as Head Coach for the recently relaunched men's and women's cross country programs.
A graduate of Capital University and former runner and team captain for the Crusaders, Iacovone brings years of experience as a runner, teacher, and coach.
Iacovone joins the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics after serving a year as the advisor for the Columbus State Cross Country Club where he coaches students, assists in fundraising, and organizes runs and events. A Westerville native, Iacovone has built relationships with members of the running community at the high school and collegiate levels.
Iacovone is currently a full-time academic and fitness specialist with the Department of College Recreation & Wellness. In this role, he mentors Sports and Exercise Studies practicum students, performs fitness assessments, and develops exercise prescriptions for personal training clients. In addition, he is a part-time instructor at Columbus State, teaching kinesiology.
Iacovone earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Exercise Science from Columbus State Community College in 2010 and his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science in 2012. He is a certified USATF Level One Track Coach.
Iacovone has maintained a level of personal success in running. Currently, he is13th on Capital University’s all-time fastest runners in school history.
