HARROD, Ohio - The Columbus State women's golf team finished in fourth place in the Ohio Northern University Spring Invitational, its first event of the season. The tournament was held April 2-3 at the par-73 Colonial Golfers Club.
The Cougars posted a 218-380 over the two day tournament, bringing their total to 166-over par 598. Otterbein University won team honors with a 568 (+136), followed by Ohio Northern's 586 (+154), and Capital University's 596 (+164).
In the first day, the tournament was shortened to nine holes due to snow and extremely high winds that moved into the area. Columbus State concluded that day in 5th place of five teams. In the second day, a full round was held with the Cougars drastically improving their scores to finish in fourth place. A total of four Columbus State golfers competed in the invitational.
Sean Pusey paced the Cougars through the invitational, with a 48-91—139 (+31). Pusey finished tied for second place.
Columbus State will be back in action next at the Ohio Wesleyan University invitational, held April 9-10 at Mill Creek Golf Club in Ostrander, Ohio.
