The Columbus State Men's Golf Team Shows Resilience

Defiance, Ohio - The Columbus State Men's Golf Team competed well at the Defiance Invitational with a team score of 320 at the Eagle Rock Golf Club to finish in 10th place out of 15 teams.

The Cougars continue to show resilience improving on their first round numbers as they competed exclusively against four year universities for the second consecutive invitational.

Sophomore John Carlisle finished 13th for the Cougars shooting a 76 for the round. Sophomore Christopher Dearth led the Cougars in par-4 scoring, on the front 9, officially carding a 79 to tie for 31st place.

Elsewhere for Columbus State, Freshman Nicholas Darling shot a 77 on the 18 - hole, par 71 golf course.  Freshman Todd Crowe shot an 88, and Freshman Cody Stonebraker finished the day with a 91. 

Heidelberg won the invitational finishing the round shooting a team total of 294.

The Cougars will be back in action Sat, Oct. 14th at the Mount Vernon Nazarene University competing on the Chapel Hill Golf Course
