Dustin Iacovone enters his fourth year as head coach for the men's and women's cross country programs.
Coach Iacovone has led his teams to the national tournament each season, including a NJCAA DIII National Runner-Up finish for the women's team in 2016.
A graduate of Capital University and former runner and team captain for the Crusaders, upon graduating Iacovone was 13th on Capital University’s all-time fastest runners in school history.
Iacovone is currently a full-time academic and fitness specialist with the Department of College Recreation & Wellness. In this role, he mentors Sports and Exercise Studies practicum students, performs fitness assessments, and develops exercise prescriptions for personal training clients. In addition, he is a part-time instructor at Columbus State, teaching kinesiology.
Iacovone earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Exercise Science from Columbus State Community College in 2010 and his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science in 2012. He is a certified USATF Level One Track Coach. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Allied Medicine from Ohio State University.
Iacovone has maintained a level of personal success in running. His first marathon was the Columbus Marathon in 2015 (2:48:56). Since then he has run the Boston Marathon in 2017 (2:55:03) and 2018 (3:02:53) and New York Marathon in 2016 (3:06:20).
