MT. VERNON, Ohio - Columbus State women's golf team placed second at Mt. Vernon Nazarene Invitational, which was held on Saturday, October 10, at the Chapel Hill Golf Course in Mt. Vernon. Thirty-one women competed on the par-72 course.
The Cougars finished in second place of six teams after shooting 326 during round one and 342 in round two for a final score of 668. The squad trailed competition-winner University of St. Francis (Indiana) (638) by 20 strokes.
Sophomore Rafaella Gioffre carded a 73-89--162 to tie for third place.
Freshman Sydney Kelly finished close behind with an 84-83--167, tying for seventh place. Sophomore Sean Pusey placed ninth with a 81-87--168, Kellie Feehan placed 12th with 88-83--171, and Claudia Podolski finished 23rd with 100-90--190 to round out the team.
This invitational concludes Columbus State's autumn season. The Cougars will be back on the course for competition in March.
