Cougar Volleyball Picks Up Wins Over Terra State and Schoolcraft

PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The Columbus State Community College volleyball team bounced back after their loss to Owens to pick up wins over Terra State and Schoolcraft on Saturday.

Inside the Games:

-DIII Columbus State 3, DII Terra State 2: 28-26, 25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 15-11

-DIII Columbus State 3, DIII Schoolcraft 0: 25-20, 25-14, 25-15

-Both were non-conference matchups

-Record: 12-1 overall, 5-1 OCCAC

Key Statistics vs. Terra State

-The Cougars posted a season-high eleven aces.

-Tiziana Russell led the Cougars with 10 kills at a .381 pace while Akea Hunter had a team-high .429 on a trio of kills.

-Audrey Jenkins dished out 35 assists. Jenkins and Esther Holtzclaw led the team with three aces each.

-Tate Rybarczyk tallied 25 digs and three assists.

Key Statistics vs. Schoolcraft

-Bobby Diamond led the game with 15 kills on .550 hitting.

-Rybarczyk led the defense with 12 digs while Hunter put up two solo blocks.

-Diamond 9th in the nation in kills per set (3.63).

-Jenkins is 4th in assists per set with 9.28 while Rybarczyk is 11th in digs per set with 5.24 scoops.

-Hunter & Holtzclaw are both in the top 10 nationally in blocks per set with 1.18 and 1.09 respectively.

-The Cougars are in the top 15 in the country in multiple statistical categories. They are 3rd in blocks per set (2.87), 7th in assists per set (10.13), 13th in kills per set (10.20), and 14th in digs per set (17.00).
