2017 Women's Cross Country Season Preview

COLUMBUS, Ohio – This season, the Columbus State women's cross country team features a two-person squad with great leadership and experience. After a NJCAA national runner-up finish last season, the Cougars are looking to have a strong individual national finish.

The runners include returners Elizabeth Finley (Columbus/Westland HS) and Madeline Bodie (Galena/Big Walnut HS), who bring a season of experience running at the local, regional, and national level.

According to Coach Dustin Iacovone, Elizabeth "is the toughest runner and person. I have a lot of respect for her and I can't wait to see what she does this year. Last season Finley was named to the Region XII DIII team after running a 5k time of 21:39.5 at the regional meet.

Madeline "has been a terrific leader this season and put in a lot of work over the summer. She has set herself up for a great sophomore season" said Coach Iacovone.

The Cougars will begin their season on Saturday, September 2 when they travel to Yellow Springs to compete at the Wittenberg University Invitational.
